Rainbow Birthday Wishes

I absolutely loved this card I found via Pinterest from SplitCoast Stampers from Yours Truly.  She tells the story of having to rescue the rainbow from her card when she messed up stamping the sentiment (now who hasn't done that before?), but I think her "rescue" turned out amazing and I just had to try it for myself.  I used seven shades of Distress Ink and a lot of post-it notes for masking.  I love how it turned out with the Darice rainbow studs sprinkled on it.  The sentiment is from that Inkadinkado Garden Flowers stamp set.  It's funny how many stamps sets I have with sentiments, but I find there are several that I use all the time:  this one and the Fiskars All Occasions set are probably the most used sets I own.  I added a few more studs and little dot of Stardust Stickles to finish it off.  Quick, easy and adorable!

Inspired by a Winner

I was trolling my favorite blogs for inspiration and found it!  Paper Players was showing their winners and one of them just spoke to my creative heart.  They featured this amazing pinwheel card by Karen Day and I just knew I had to try it out myself.  Now, I could have downloaded clouds, the pinwheel and grass from the Silhouette Design Studio.  They had them, but I elected to make the pinwheel and the clouds myself.  It was fun to have to think through how to do it and I have to admit that I'm enjoying learning how to the use the program to create my own designs.  The only regret I have is that I did not make the pinwheel a little bit bigger on this card.  The blue, brown and green papers are card stock from DCWV.  The pinwheel itself was cut from a scrap from the Stella and Rose 6x6 pad from My Mind's Eye and finished off with a pearl from Imaginesce using my Irock.  The sentiment is one of my absolute favorites for birthdays.  Its from the Garden Flowers set from Inkadinkado.  The clouds were filled with Fun Flock from Stampendous!

Recycling a Recent Favorite

I'm a little behind on posting because I was making cards for upcoming events and wasn't sure about posting them in advance.  So now, I'm playing catch up in posting.  I liked this card I made the other night based upon a sample from Creations from Christina so much that I decided to make another for another birthday.  I used the same Stella and Rose 6x6 pad from My Mind's Eye, a little bit of cardstock from DCWV, crochet thread and sentiment stamp from the Garden Flowers set of Inkadinkado.

Sympathy Card

It's time for another card for the "I feel the love" project. Unfortunately, this time it's a sympathy card and because of that, fewer people are participating. So please, take a moment and make a card to let this family know that people care. You can read more about it on Madison's blog here.

I found inspiration on an old sketch from Freshly Made Sketches found here. I have absolutely no idea who makes the paper since I pulled it out of a stack of miscellaneous paper from my scraps drawer and the butterflies are from the Silhouette Design Studio store. The sentiment stamp is from the Garden Flowers set from Inkadinkado and I used a flower stamp from that set to emboss around the sentiment as well.

New Variation

I loved the get well soon card from yesterday so much that I just had to make a variation for my thank you cards. I used all the same supplies from yesterday (scrap paper, Sizzix dies Vine, Swirly, ProvoCraft die, Asterisks, and Flower Clusters Sizzix embossing folder), but this time I used a purple Irock hot gem instead of the yellow Darice gem. I also didn't emboss the center rectangle. Instead I used a lovely stamp from Inkadinkado's Garden Flowers set. I just love this stamp set. It's so elegant. Right now you can pick it up for only $4 dollars (that's right $4) at Scrapbuck.
