Hello Handsome

When I found this card on I'm in Haven, I absolutely loved it.  The ombre effect of the hearts was delightful.  I knew I just had to make my own version, yet again, with all the things I have I didn't have the die or the stamp set she used.  But I do have the capacity to do almost anything with my Cameo.  So I created the falling hearts pattern in the Cameo by first creating an entire sheet of hearts to fit on the page, then randomly deleting hearts until I had a sheet that looked good to me.  I then cut it out and cut three colors to back it with.  Then I pulled out my new Hero Arts stamp set that I picked up at Michaels a couple of weeks back.  I loved the stamp in it that says "Hello Handsome" because I say that to my dear hubby all the time.  So that was, of course, the perfect stamp for the outside of this card, with "I miss you" on the inside.  I love challenging myself to recreate cards when I don't have exactly the supplies of the original and I'm pretty pleased with how this one turned out.

You Are So Loved

I absolutely fell in love with the sentiment on this card on I'm in Haven.  It was so wonderful that I just had to try my own hand at it. I opted to use more paper from the My Mind's Eye 6 x 6 paper pad called Love Me and a flower cut from some DCWV cardstock using a rose pattern I downloaded from Silhouette.  Of course, once again, I didn't have the stamp but I didn't let that stop me.  I typed the sentiment in my Silhouette software using the Vivaldi font, flipped the sentiment horizontally and printed it on inkjet transparency.  I then used that as a rub-on to put the sentiment on my card.  I've never done it before, but this won't be the last time I use that technique.  It was super simple to do and really has opened up some new creative opportunities.

A Beautiful Sentiment

I just loved the sentiment on this card on I'm in Haven's blog and the layout of the card.  Since I didn't have the stamp, I recreated it using Word and simply printed it on my paper.  I added the word "love" using half of a "true love" stamp from my Creative Imaginations "Love" set.  Then I was so excited to use one of my very favorite papers from the My Mind's Eye Love Me 6x6 paper pad.  I just love, love, love this paper.  So with a simple piece of red ribbon and some black paper backing, I made my own version.

Love

I'm off on another trip for work so poor hubby is left home without me to cater to the whims of our furballs, but I want him to remember how much I love him.  So a while back I started making a card for every day we are apart.  Although I didn't have as much notice for this trip, it was a lot more notice that we had for his last trip.  So this time, we're back to custom cards rather than just a few grabbed from my stash.  I love this card today.  A while back when I was home sick and bored, I spend some time surfing blogs because I was too tired to actually craft but not tired enough to sleep all the time.  I found this new blog called "I'm in Haven."  I really liked the style of her crafting and found quite a few inspirational pieces such as this one.  It was so cute and easy to make using my Cameo.  The font is called Rockwell Extra Bold and I offset the "o" and removed the center of the "o" before welding all the letters together.  I cut some cute hearts out and swapped one with glitter paper from DCWV for a little extra pop.  Quick and easy but oh so cute so you'll definitely be seeing more cards cased from I'm in Haven in future posts.
