I'm back with a craft room redo...

I was beginning to feel like life was conspiring against me to keep me off the internet.  First, we were completely without internet for over a week while changing to high speed (which is in fact faster).  Then, just as I was settling back into my routine, my computer died on July 4th.  It was working fine in the morning and then just well nothing.  Turns out my hard drive died.  The good news is that while I was suffering without internet, I was bored enough to back up my computer (thank God for that!).  So I didn't really lose anything.  The really, really good news is that there's this computer angel in my life named Randy who knew what was wrong, knew what I needed and just yesterday returned my laptop to me better than ever!  I'm so ecstatic I just can't put it in words.  So now everything is loaded and ready to go except my Designer Edition of the Silhouette Design Studio.  I cannot find the license key anywhere.  Hopefully, my e-mail tonight to Silhouette will resolve that issue.

So on to more good news.  Hubby and I have been talking about changes to my craft room for a while, such a counter top and more storage.  On Friday night, I arrived home to find a seven foot counter top in the back of his truck.  They were tossing it out at work and he brought it home.  The only thing wrong with it was this notch cut out of one back corner.  So then the hunt for a cabinet began.  We had a small one from our bathroom remodel a year or so ago, but it wasn't enough.  But providence struck on Saturday as we drove to drop off some scrap wood at my parents.  Out of the corner of my eye, I caught something at a garage sale.  "Is that a base cabinet?"  Hubby turned the truck around and sure enough that's exactly what it was.  A garage sale super buy turned into a super cheap craft room change up (okay so it won't be super cheap after I buy the cubbies and some more building supplies for hubby to build a little more storage, but it will be cheaper than it could of been).  The base cabinet I picked up for song at the garage turned out to be the perfect size without the one in the garage because it leaves room for my little rolling carts to hide out.  Sweeeeeeettttt!  Plus that little notch in the back turned out to be the perfect place for all the cords to snake down to the outlet.  I'm so super happy.  It's hard to believe it's all real.  Today when I walked into my craft room for the first time since we finished the change, I just couldn't believe how big it feels now.

Here's two pictures from my camera and one from my web cam (when I was trying to figure out why the computer wouldn't recognize my SD card - but that was just user error).

That is one well-organised work room! Your de-cluttering and renovation ideas are good ones! :) Much thanks for sharing this!
