A little inspiration
This is my last weekend to finish up the "what we like about" pages for my team at work, but I have to admit I haven't really felt inspired lately. Tired, yes, but not inspired. But this morning I wandered down to my craft room and logged on. I immediately saw a notice on Facebook that Creating Keepsakes was hosting a one hour challenge that would start at 10:15 that morning. So I decided to find a way to use their sketch to get at least one page done. Wouldn't you know it, but the sketch was perfect and inspiring and I finished a page for Jeff and uploaded it with nearly 15 minutes to spare.
That was all I needed to get my creativity jump started today and I decided to try to do another page in just an hour; this time using the sketch on Sketch Inspirations. Well, that one took longer than hour because I had to find a turtle to add to the page and I had to go fold a load of laundry and play fetch with Chewie for a while, but if you subtract out all the non-scrapbooking stuff, I think I might have made the deadline.
So then I pulled up this week's sketch on Sketchy Thursdays. Add a little laundry, some more fetch, a quick trip down to the post office and the grocery store, a short appearance at the neighbor's holiday party (wow that punch really packed a punch) and dinner with the in-laws and my one-hour challenge took more like eight hours, but I got it done.
Three finished last weekend, another three today, four to go. I guess tomorrow will have to be less laundry and more scrapbooking, but that doesn't sound too bad to me. Now it's off to watch Sex and the City 2 on Netflix so I can mail it back to get the original Tron for Matt.

Inspired by Sketchy Thursday
I was really tired tonight after a second very long day at work this week. In fact, I didn't even think I would spend much time in my craft room tonight. But then I saw the 11.4 sketch on Sketchy Thursdays and realized it was the perfect inspiration to use a drawing I've been saving. You see, this spring we cleaned out an old storage unit that my in-laws had. You know the kind; it holds of little bit of everybody's stuff. Well in that process, she unearthed this clear plastic frame with a drawing of her that had been done at the state fair in 1956! It was is in near perfect condition. It was just begging to be put on a page. So off into my pile it went and tonight it finally found a home thanks to the inspirational sketch.
Well that's all. I'm tired and the furballs are demanding to be fed so I had better go before blood is shed.

Sketchy Thursdays - December Guest Design Team Challenge
Oh my gosh. When I saw this sketch this morning I immediately knew what I was going to do. My family is just filled with happy couples, whether they've been married 6 years like Matt and I or 55 years like my aunt and uncle. I've always wanted to do a page to memorialize that and when I saw that page I knew it was the perfect one. I just wish the picture was better because you can't see the glitter in the brown paper or all the glittery stickles touches I used.
Okay, that's it for the day. Matt made popcorn and the smell is calling my name.

Sketchy Thursdays
So when I looked at this week's sketch on Sketchy Thursdays, I immediately knew what I would be doing with it, but didn't have any pictures. Well, I didn't let that stop me and just told the story I've been thinking about for a while. They say that telling the story is the real point of scrapbooking, well then this one gets to the point.
