P.S. Just wanted to say a little prayer for all my blog and real world friends on the East Coast who were affected by today's earthquake. I hope you are all safe and sound. It was shocking because I didn't know anything about it (okay so I confess that when I'm at work, I'm pretty isolated and don't usually hear any world type events until the evening - in other words, I'm completely out of the grapevine and I like it that way). But I had an 11 a.m. conference call that's a nationwide call. The first thing everyone was asking was if everyone was okay, what the damage had been and how far away people had felt the aftershocks. (It's funny how close you can get to people when you have two or three conference calls together each week.) Most of the states were on the call and we were able to reassure ourselves that our motley crew was okay. But I know that it was pretty scary for a few of them because they aren't used to these. But then, I'm not either and I don't want to be... Anyhow, take care all you out there.

I'm ready to go...
Yes, I'm all ready for our second try at a girls' camping weekend. The RV is packed and my craft stuff is ready to go in the truck tomorrow. This time I'm taking two days off work and boy can I use the break. I have worked extremely hard the last few days and have managed to actually clear a bunch of stuff off my desk. Whoo hoo! Between the hard work at work and the hard work at home, I'm sooooooo ready for a long weekend of crafting, TV, girl time and wine. I was just cleaning up the mess I had made of craft room when packing when Matt called that I had to come see this.
Yes, that's our dear Chewie making it clear that the crafting stuff is not going anywhere unless she comes with! Really, I can't believe what an amazing job dear hubby did to get it all organized.
Whoo hoo! This is going to be fun.

Crafting, I mean camping here I come
So I've just finished packing for my girls' night/camping trip. The RV is all packed with the essentials (TV, DVD, wine, margarita mix, kitty treats for Chewie, DVR with 10 episodes of Real Housewives of New Jersey, the end of Survivor from last season, and the start of Hell's Kitchen, a couple episodes of Intervention and other random things my sister with no TV will want to watch - love, love, love having satellite in the RV). Since I'm going early to stake out our site, the truck is packed with my crafting equipment. Only the essentials, you know. ;) Here's my carousel (much easier than trying to repack all my tools into a tote), my flowers, some ribbon, a cutting pad, paper, and lots more card bases:
Here is my fully organized scrap paper bin (oh and a new tent for my sister and a collapsible crate, just in case...)
So here is my tote with stamps, ink pads, embellies, my ATG gun and reference books:
Hmm, do you think that's enough to keep me busy until the RV arrives a little later. By the way, love the new camera too (at least now that I figure out how to turn on the flash - ha ha). Well, I'm off to bed to get some sleep since I don't think I'll be getting much this weekend. I just hope it's not too hot, although I do have two fans packed. Hmmm, maybe I have overpacked just a tad...

A productive weekend
The hubby and I decided to spend our three day weekend camping... in the snow. Yup, there was about an inch of snow on the ground when we got to the campground, but since we have an RV (with a furnace), it's not really a big deal. We were toasty warm the whole weekend. What I couldn't believe was the number of people camping in tents. Crazy! Fortunately the snow was pretty much melted by the end of the second day as you can see here.

It was our first weekend with the new satellite dish in the RV. I couldn't believe how easy it was to set up. But I have to confess there's something very decadent about sitting in the RV watching all the same shows I would be watching at home with the same DVR capability we have at home to pause TV. Matt was thrilled to watch hours of NASCAR while camping. Because it was so cold outside, we only went for a couple of walks so we watched a lot of TV.
Most of the time, I was making cards.... 76 of them! I had picked up boxes of the DCWV the Natural and La Creme card bases at Jo-Ann's when they had them on sale a few weeks ago and the mat stacks to go with. I had packed a limited amount of supplies, mostly punches, ribbon, my Irock and a few embellishments. When I was done, I realized that I hadn't missed my whole stash of supplies but had been able to made do easily with what I had there. There was only one card base that I didn't want to use because I knew I needed something from my room that I hadn't brought with.
Overall it was a pretty good weekend. Camping in the snow was kind of fun, Chewie had a great time watching the Canadian geese and other birds (yes we take a cat camping, usually two, but this time Tigger didn't want to come with), the satellite worked perfectly and I got a lot of cards made up for future use.
So the weekend was great, but this week is killing me with several people out so I'm trying to cover three jobs and still do my own. Yesterday I started at work at 6 a.m. straight through to my evening speaking engagement, so I didn't pull in to the garage until 10 p.m. Then today there was lots of drama I could have done without so, even though it was more of a normal work day, I feel like I've been through the ringer trying to get everything done. I'm too tired to do more tonight. I'll add pictures of some of the card styles later when I'm a little less zombie-ish feeling.
