First, here's a picture of me getting my fluids on my favorite Tony Stewart #20 blanket. I know it came out pretty dark so you can't see how happy I am, but I really am purring. Caesar's mommy is going to learn tomorrow how to give fluids to Caesar, who was recently diagnosed with renal failure. Although it doesn't look comfortable, it really doesn't bother me at all. Anyhow, we sure hope you'll all stop by Caesar and Princess's blog to leave purrs and prayers for Caesar and his mommy.
Second, many of us don't like the v-e-t, but often times these furry special people play a big role in making our lives happier and healthier. This is the last week that you can enter your v-e-t in a special contest thanking them for making our lives better. You'll have to write an essay of 300 words or less explaining why your v-e-t is the best in America (we think that there are probably really good v-e-t-s efurrywhere). By the way, 300 words really isn't a lot; it only took Mommy and I about a half an hour to fill out the entry. Rules and entry form are on the web at http://www.thankyourvet.org/. Entries are accepted until 11:59 p.m. on May 31, 2007 (they don't say what time zone). We think our v-e-t-s, Drs. Laura and Robert Archer of Ash Creek Animal Clinic, are the best but we welcome lots of competition.

That is a great contest! Although many of us kitties don't like vets, they really do help to keep us healthy and living long lives.
Oh Geesh we are stupid... we almost forgot the deadline with all the weird hijacking on our server. Why anyone would want to steal our database junk is beyond me... thanks for reminding us, we had a note to our selves in some blog post we think, but sigh....

Oh and a curious thought, when TeaCup was having fluids in his spinal area... I would always have to rub down the spot when I would be allowed to visit. It freaked me out. Is that normal? Always he had a "lump" but anyhow, was wondering
you're very lucky to have parents who take such good care of you. i've heard that getting fluids that way doesn't hurt exactly, but many kitties feel cold afterward. i hope you get good cuddles.
so far, i haven't had to get sub-q fluids, although it's probably coming.

What a great idea! Our VET actually stumbled across my nominating him as Food Dude of the Year in Skeezix's contest. He was very flattered. Perhaps I should send that in for this contest!

My Mommie gives fluids to many cats at the cat shelter, and none of them mind it (she always gives them loves while the fluid goes in, too).
That's a good idea to nominate vets as a way of thanking them for all they do. Some of us wouldn't be here without them!!!

Thanks for the info on the vet! AND you are right about vets, they can be very wonderful to us. I don't like to admit it, but our vet is really a very nice lady who is very smart and caring!
