Hmm...

A few years ago Mommy and Daisy Mae Maus' mommy talked about going to the Mall of America together. Today, Mommy got to go because her conference is in Minneapolis. She only got to spend a few hours there, but she had fun, watched the rides while she scarfed down dinner (she didn't get to ride any), spent an hour and a half in the scrapbook store and then an hour and half seeing all the rest of the mall. She told us there was a store for cats and dogs there. She looked for a new collar for Cha-ching, but couldn't find the one Daddy wants (with studs...)

Little trip

As you may know, Mommy is on a little trip for work. Smoke was worried about how Daddy would cope and brought him a bird. Daddy released the bird back into the wild after it left a lot feathers in the kitchen. Darn chirping that woke Daddy from his nap...
Anyhow, Mommy sent this picture of the city that she took from the plane as they were getting ready to land. She said that she's never been so happy to have a plane land. She didn't feel too good and spent most of the night throwing up with a sick migraine. She finally got some good sleep and reports that she feels much better today (even after sitting through meetings all day long). She even says that she might bring us back a little treat from the big city... do you think it's Temptations, or Greenies, or ....

Helping herself

Chewie is not shy. If there's something she wants, she just helps herself. Case in point, Mommy left the treat canister on the counter with the lid open when she got sidetracked doing something else. She came back to find Chewie having a little snack.

PS. Chewie's new pretty pink collar (the second collar) is gone already. That's two in as many weeks. Maybe Mommy will bring her back one from her trip next week. She'll be gone a whole week so we won't be blogging much. We'll let's face it, they're so busy they hardly let us blog at all anymore. Darn humans...

Wildlife Saved!

We'll the bells finally worked. Well, not really. What worked is that Mommy went outside to let the furballs know it was dinner time. Smoke was hanging out at the neighbor's daylily bush. Mom went over to find out what was more interesting than stinky goodness and Temptations. Well, it turns out that really large, ugly bugs that make a hissing noise must be better because Smoke was more interested in this:

Yes, that is a quarter in the picture and, no, Smoke didn't get to eat or play with the bug anymore. Mommy made him come inside. Daddy thought the bug was really interesting. He said that they rarely ever get that large. Mommy said good and she would be happy never to have seen it in the first place. Daddy, however, was fascinated. He went out with the camera and got really close. Mommy made him come inside too (and leave the bug outside, as if I needed to add that clarification).

Gandalf brings one home

Okay so we have to give some equal time here. It's not just Chewie and Smoke bringing home "presents." Tonight Gandalf came galloping through the kitty door with his contribution.

I guess there's no bell that can stop the carnage...

Big bell, no help

Okay so we got collars on the furballs to give the "prey" in the neighborhood a fighting chance, but I guess it's not much of one. It's been less than one week and this morning we came downstairs to find Smoke with a "chirping" mouse in the house, then tonight we caught him outside playing a game with a mousie from the field on the front lawn. So much for the loud bell... I guess no one is safe from the furballs!

Zoey, the snoopervisor

While they were painting this weekend, Mom and Dad left the bedroom window open and the screen off. That's how Daddy gets on the roof to paint the second story. I took full advantage of the situation to go out on the roof to "snoopervise" their work. Well, really, only Dad's work because Mom won't go above the second rung on the ladder and doesn't do roofs at all. I thought the view was great and the painting job was pretty good. Mom wasn't so happy, about me being on the roof that is. She made me come back in the window. At least Dad got some good pictures of my adventure.
