Catnip frenzy

So after Mom finished the quilt for her stained glass table, she used the scraps to make us some catnip "ravioli." We just love them. We've been rolling on them and licking them. A big thanks to DMM and her mommy for sending us one last year. We "loved" on it so much that Mom had to start making us replacements.
See, here I am smiling - I'm so happy!
PS. Aren't are pictures better with the new camera? Mom picked up some photos she had printed at Walgreens (it's 10 cents a print for orders of 30 or more through January 12 if you use the coupon code "JOY" and you can pick them up in about an hour, plus each person can use the code up to 5 times) and it had a mix of the video camera pictures and the new camera and what a difference there was! The new camera is a million times better (thanks Grandma - now she's using the flashy box all the time - no kitty is getting any sleep).

We're Baaccckkkkk!

Wowie it's been a busy month. Mommy's big project is over (successfully) and the family has been to town and gone for Jason's memorial and the big holiday and Mom still has a whole week of vacation before she has to go back to work (although she still has about three weeks of comp time to take before July 1).

So here are the things that have kept her busy since her project ended: finishing scrapbooks that were presents for Aunties Kim and Janette, finishing and framing the Lord's Prayer cross-stitch for Auntie Val, loading the digital photo frame for Daddy's parents, sewing Seahawks lounging pants for Uncle Mike, shopping with the girls, picking up Auntie Kim from the airport and hanging out with her, spending time with Daddy's mom, casino trips with Mommy's parents, baking danish puff pastry called Kringla, making carmel corn with Daddy, baking and eating Christmas dinner, attending Uncle Jason's memorial, buying and wrapping Daddy's Xbox 360 (yup she's a video game widow again), playing with the new camera she and Daddy got for Christmas from her parents, seeing movies (Mist, I am Legend, Alvin and Chipmunks, National Treasure Book of Secrets and Sweeney Todd), cleaning the house and doing load after load of laundry and finally, making a new quilt for us specially made to fit over the table where her stained glass projects are pieced together (if she doesn't have something there the furballs believe that means it's okay to see if the pieces fit together other ways than the pattern she's doing or to throw them on the floor).

Oh, and I forgot the one she's most proud of: She finally talked to enough people at HP that they are going to take back her computer and fix it. She only bought it in April but it's crashed once and now the wireless doesn't work anymore. They made her wipe out the computer (again) before she finally found someone who agreed with her that the problem isn't a software issue but a hardware problem. So now she has to pack it up and send it off to who knows where.

Good thing we have a backup. The problem is that it doesn't have our pictures on it and we've got some good ones of us opening our Secret Paw gift from Riley and Tiki (boy did we have fun). We're really missed all of you and are very happy to be getting back to normal around here (well as normal as a house with five cats can get!)

Update

First, we want to thank all of you who have posted your purrayers and well-wishes. They have been greatly appreciated. Uncle Jason passed away tonight at 4:05 p.m. in the presence of his loved ones (and in the thoughts of Aunt Kim). He will be missed but is in a better place. For the family, the services will be on Saturday, December 22 at 11 a.m. at the Grange.

Second, thank you for all the birthday wishes for Mommy and the gotcha day wishes for me. Mommy got to come home at a reasonable hour on her birthday to spend the evening with Daddy doing what has become a tradition - pizza and movies. But this year they added yummy cake from the Konditerie (sp?). Mommy loves the cake there and let us have crumbs and leftover frosting. She even took a day off to go out with the girls shopping and have dinner with the whole family.

Third, today was Grandpa's (mommy's Dad) birthday and we want to wish him a very happy birthday from all of (especially since we all missed his party). We hope he has a fabulous day because we love him very much.

Mommy's almost done with her late nights and long hours at work. She should be wrapping up either Monday or Tuesday of this next week and hopefully we'll be back to blogging by the end of next week (after she gets the wireless modem to work again and gets some much needed sleep - I see long kitty naps in our future and lots of Temptations thanks to new coupons from DaisyMae Maus' Mommy).

Fifth, Mommy wants to thank DaisyMae Maus and her Mommy for the wonderful birthday presents. We had a lot of fun with the wrapping paper and box and Mommy loved the gifts. She passed along the pins to Auntie Michele and Grandma and Grandma is passing along the other two. Thank you so much.

Finally, Cha-Ching wants to add a special hello to little Lucy-furr.

Well, that's about it. We don't have any new pictures yet, but we'll be taking some this week of the new Christmas decorations that Daddy put up outside (including the addition of Smoke's car on the front lawn...). We don't have a Christmas tree up yet (I think that Mommy and Daddy are a little concerned about what damage four furballs and I can do to their pretty fiber-optic tree, but I keep trying to tell them that McKenzie was the one that liked to try to climb the Christmas tree while I'm the innocent one who left it alone). Somehow I don't think I'm the one they are worried about. (ha ha) Happy holidays everyone and special Hanukkah wishes to all our Jewish friends (like the one that Mommy works with who's been sacrificing his evenings with the family to help the team finish this up).
