Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween everykitty (and bean too)! Mommy's taking a quick break from work to let us blog and hand out candy. First, we got a great surprise today. DaisyMae Maus' family sent our Mommy flowers and us a kitty toy (the box) so we wanted to share pictures.
We want to send them a big thank you for the wonderful surprise! Also, we have a little video to share with you that Mommy's good friend Trudylee sent her today. It's very funny and Daddy says very true too!

Busy Mommy
Mommy's been too busy to blog (yeah I know there's no such thing, but she thinks so). She's worked at home every night this week and worked all weekend (except when Daddy took her to dinner on Saturday night). Anyhow, she says this is going to continue for the next two months so we probably won't be blogging much. She promises that we'll get back to our regular schedule after the first of the year because her mommy likes to keep up with our lives by reading our blog.
Special note to Lucy from Cha-Ching - come over anytime you want because I always love having you over to play herd of elephants and tent wars.

Kitty-proofing suggestions?
Last August when Auntie Kim was here, she bought the furballs some feather boas and showed Mommy how to make them into play toys. The furballs have a boa that they can play with but keep invading Mommy's craft cabinet to bring out the extra supplies. After the first time, Mommy tied the bag shut and put it away on a shelf in the closet. They got it back out a few days later and Mommy tied it back shut and put it on the top shelf. This morning, they had gotten it back out of the closet (how do they get on that high shelf?) and were working together to get the bag open.
Smoke took off with the bag to keep Mommy from getting it back.
Then, success! The bag opened and the pink boa came out.
So Mommy was off to Jo-Ann's today for their Moonlight Madness sale. She bought more boas on sale and new plastic box with a locking lid to keep the supplies in:

Resting Up
I whined quite a bit about having to visit the vet, but Mommy said she wasn't sympathetic because she went to her doctor today. (It's her last Friday off for a couple of months so she ran around all day taking care of the things that need to be done before she has free time again). The doctor said that after over a year of taking thyroid medicine it's clear it just isn't working so she put Mommy on a different one to find out if it's just the formula that Mommy didn't respond to. Then Mommy got a flu shot so we both had to suffer needle pricks today.
So now we get to rest up and since Mommy is still struggling with her cold, I can foresee a quiet weekend snuggling on the couch watching cars go left.

Mommy's Tired
Mommy said she's too tired to blog again. The weekend at Women of Faith was awesome but very emotional. Sunday she barely put a dent into the grocery shopping and cleaning. Yesterday she and Daddy went with Mike and Val to see Jason and didn't get home until very late. Tonight she's going to finally eat the chili that's been cooking for 30 hours in the crockpot and go to sleep. What's with these beans? They need to get some energy. They didn't even hardly bat an eye at the fact that the furballs had pulled the box of bread loafs from Costco off the counter and had helped themselves to some pound cake. I guess I can't say much about that because there was a time not to many years ago that I ate a little bit out of a cake that Mom had made for a friend's birthday. I'm bummed because Mom has a picture of it but Blogger won't let us upload it.
If you are so inclined, we ask that you pray for Daddy's brother Jason who is battling a brain tumor and his wife Janette and son Asa. Things don't look so good and we can use all the prayer we can get.

Tribute to Moms and Thursday Thirteen
This Thursday Thirteen is short; it's a list of the thirteen things that the furballs destroyed last night: twelve red long stem roses that Daddy gave Mommy for their anniversary and the bag that Mommy's anniversary gift to the Daddy (an autographed poster of Mark Martin) was in.
That leaves us room to present to you this hilarious video of Anita Renfroe performing "'Cause I am the Mom" which she set to the William Tell Overture. Mommy almost drove off the road this morning laughing so hard when the radio station played it during her drive to work.

Toesday Tuesday
On Saturday Daddy's parents came to dinner and brought Rosie, their dog (actually it was once Daddy's dog). Rosie is a Schipperke and a little big for her breed. Mommy likes to give her Beggin' Strips and take lots of photos. Here is a photo of Rosie's feet.
They're really small considering Rosie's size.

Getting ready for Halloween
Well Tony had a bad race. It looked like he might have won it all, first in the race and first in the Chase but then the rain dried up and they started the race again. Tony sustained damage in a wreck and then his tired went down and a wreck with Kurt Busch and Carl Edwards finished him off. We furry sad, but he's still fourth in the standings for the Chase and we know he can bounce back.
Finally, Chewie's even getting in the spirit by working out the kinks in her scaredy cat pose for her first Halloween!
Meanwhile Mommy and Daddy were the first on the block to decorate for Halloween. It was pretty much now or never given their schedules for October so we're furry happy it was now. Here's what they started with:
And this is what they ended up with:
We helped by snoopervising from our hammock:
Smoke was busy telling Mommy where to put all the decorations inside! Here's what it looks like at night:
